THE ECHO WIFE  by  SARAH GAILEY

My Rating: ★★★

This was so different from what I was expecting!

I started this thinking it's a domestic suspense thriller, but it was more than that. Once I started reading it, I just couldn't stop.

The plot had a slightly eerie feeling to it especially with the inclusion of all the genetic and cloning concepts. It was something that I haven't read before, so it was so intriguing to read.

I'm still confused about how I feel about the ending though, on one hand I felt that it was perfect but on the other hand, I guess I wanted something more shocking or scandalous!

Nevertheless, an absolutely fascinating read!

THE LAKE  by  LOUISE SHARLAND

My Rating: ★★★

Kate's world falls apart when her teenage son drowns in the waters by his school. She’s convinced it wasn’t just a tragic accident, but no one will listen.

Now, six years later, Kate unearths Michael’s lost diary and realises she may finally be able uncover what really happened that night.

But as she delves deeper, she begins to realise that she didn’t really know her son – or the people in his life – at all. And that, sometimes, secrets are better left submerged…

An interesting premise with an equally good plot!

The plot flows smoothly and it' has a dark theme to it, that keeps you hooked on. AIso, it's filled with twists and turns. I kept guessing and changing my suspect right till the end, but even then I couldn't figure it out before Kate.

In terms of the main character, Kate, there were times when I genuinely felt bad for her, because losing a child is obviously difficult and plus, she didn't have the right support system to help her grieve. But there were instances in the book, when I lost connection with her and found some of her actions questionable.

But overall, a good read.

THE NIGHT FIRE  by  MICHEAL CONNELLY

(Harry Bosch #22)

My Rating: ★★★★★

Just two words to describe this book, "Simply Amazing!".

Another fantastic addition to one of my all time favorite series. I love reading Renée Ballard as much as Harry Bosch, and if you include Mickey Haller in the plot.... What more can I ask for ?!

THE ATTORNEY  by  STEVE MARTINI

(Paul Madriani #5)

My Rating: ★★★★

This is my first Paul Madriani book and I am definitely planning on reading the other books in this series.

The plot was filled with action and twists right from the start. I particularly enjoyed the courtroom scenes because they were so engrossing. The ending was definitely a surprise because it was so unexpected!

GUITAR NOTES  by  MARY AMATO

My Rating: ★★★

What an amazing book! It's so simple but yet delivers such a powerful and beautiful message. I loved the bond between Lyla and Tripp. After reading this... I really want to learn how to play the guitar!

JUST TWO OF US  by  RYU HYANG

(Just Two of Us #2)

My Rating: ★★★

I really enjoyed the first part of this book, but this was even better!

The story picks up right from where it left off in the previous book. The reason why this is much better than the first part is because this time the characters were developed much better. And also there was more depth in the plot rather than just being an ordinary romance novel, it focused on family, love and importance of forgiveness.

I loved how the family relationships got developed in this plot. Soohyuk struggle to come to terms with finding his birth family was understandable but I think having Yuna by his side made it a lot more easier.

I wish there would have been another book, but, I can't really complain much, as the ending was like a typical K-Drama.

Overall, an enjoyable read.

DANCE UPON THE AIR  by  NORA ROBERTS

(Three Sisters Island #1)

My Rating: ★★★

I enjoyed reading this! While it was a feel-good romance story, the settings and the inclusion of witchcraft in the plot were fascinating.

Looking forward to read the next books in the series!
