SADIE by COURTNEY SUMMERS
Popular radio personality West McCray receives a desperate phone call from a stranger imploring him to find nineteen-year-old runaway Sadie Hunter, he's not convinced there's a story there; girls go missing all the time.
But when it's revealed that Sadie fled home after the brutal murder of her little sister, Mattie, West travels to the small town of Cold Creek, Colorado, to uncover what happened. As he traces her path a deeply unsettling mystery begins to unfold. Can he find Sadie before it's too late?
When I picked this book as part of the group read, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. But now, after having finished reading it, I can say with full conviction, that this is definitely one of the best books I have read.
This is such an amazing story. It is narrated in alternating chapters between a podcast and Sadie’s journey. The story was so gripping right from the first page. “The Girls” podcast, was an excellent addition to this rather powerful story.
But as you read this book, you get lost in Sadie’s journey as she goes on a mission, determined to hunt for the man, she feels is responsible for her younger sister, Mattie’s murder. You fall in love with her and you want to get inside the book to protect her and comfort her no matter how strong she is.
And the ending was definitely gut punching!
