THE BLACK BOOK by JAMES PATTERSON
Billy Harney miraculously survives a shootout that leaves his former partner and a hard-charging assistant district attorney dead. But he remembers nothing about the events leading up to the shootout.
Being a cop runs in Billy Harney's family. His father is Chicago's Chief of Detectives and his twin sister, Patty is also a cop. There's nothing Billy won't give up to save the job he loves so much. So, when he is charged with double murder, he is desperate to clear his name.
He begins to retrace his steps to get to the bottom of what happened and try to regain his lost memory. He discovers the existence of a little black book which he suspects contains the truth that will either set him free or confirm his worst fears.
This was definitely one of the best James Patterson’s books that I have read in recent years. It had me hooked on right from the first page till the end.
I just loved the pace at which the plot progressed and the characters were all well developed. The suspense over the contents and who actually has the 'Black Book' is maintained right till the end. In fact the ending was so shocking and excellent that I actually kept wondering how did I miss figuring that out!
Highly Recommended! I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
